Folklore:
Many Native American tribes of North America have used Uva Ursi along with other herbs in smoking rituals. The indian name, Kinnik kinnnik means “good to smoke”. Bears eat the berries, leading to the plant’s Latin name, Uva Ursi, which means grape of the bear.
